In Malaysia, land ownership at national level is managed by 2 agencies; Department of Lands and Mines (JKPTG) & The Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM). Link: https://www.nre.gov.my/ms-my/Tanah/Pages/default.aspx. Since, JKPTG and JUPEM are under the federal territory, the data available are not open to the public and entrance fees are required to request the data. However, there are several cases whereby Malay reserve land owner able to request the data at their respective state from the Land Department Office, which for Selangor and Penang case, the FOI act is available. Thus, the owners have their right to request access of the data.
