This data category requires results by constituency / district for all major national electoral contests. Election data informs about voting outcomes and voting process. What are electoral majorities and minorities? How many votes are registered, invalid, or spoilt? To enable highest transparency, the Index assesses polling station data. Data for electoral zones does not suffice. The Index consulted the National Democratic Institute (NDI) to develop this data category. For more information, see the NDI’s Open Elections Data Initiative. We recommend that you consult our methodology section for more information.

Rejected submission since not all required data is available. Data available (http://www.eld.gov.sg/elections_past_results.html / https://data.gov.sg/dataset/presidential-election-results) in Presidential elections 2011, Parliamentary elections 2015 and Parliamentary By-elections 2016 results only represent results for major electoral contests. On the data.gov.sg site it is possible to see major results by constituency, and results are machine-readable and formatted for easy reuse. Submitter notes that previously, the information was available only on the webpage of the Singapore Elections Department (http://www.eld.gov.sg/) in HTML format, which required users to scrape and reformat before they could use the data. The process to find the data it’s pretty straightforward. As submitter notes, in Singapore, number of votes at constituency level is equivalent to that at polling station level. Data is open licensed: https://data.gov.sg/open-data-licence.
