Air Quality 100% open

Puerto Rico

What data is expected?

Data about the daily mean concentration of air pollutants, especially those potentially harmful to human health. Data should be available for all air monitoring stations or air monitoring zones in a country. The Index focusses on key pollutants as defined by the World Health Organisation. See our methodology section for more information.

  • Particulate matter (PM)
  • Sulphur oxides (SOx)
  • Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
  • Carbon monoxide (CO)
  • Ozone
  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Available per air monitoring station/zone

The website http://www.emisionestoxicaspr.org/, maintained by the Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics, provides georeferenced information on air pollutant emissions (levels, measured in pounds), The information source for the latter is the EPA's Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), which is self-reported industry data (data on Puerto Rico is stored at http://www.estadisticas.gobierno.pr/iepr/Estadisticas/Basesdedatos/Ambiente.aspx#toxic, derived from https://www.epa.gov/toxics-release-inventory-tri-program/tri-basic-data-files-calendar-years-1987-2015).

Accepted without corrections. Data found both in daily and bulk data.
