This data category requires results by constituency / district for all major national electoral contests. Election data informs about voting outcomes and voting process. What are electoral majorities and minorities? How many votes are registered, invalid, or spoilt? To enable highest transparency, the Index assesses polling station data. Data for electoral zones does not suffice. The Index consulted the National Democratic Institute (NDI) to develop this data category. For more information, see the NDI’s Open Elections Data Initiative. We recommend that you consult our methodology section for more information.
|In an open and machine-readable format|
|Collected by government||Yes|
Data available only by constituency level. Website has a confusing navigation, making it really hard to find the data. By clicking a banner indicating elections results (http://www.tribunal-electoral.gob.pa/html/index.php?id=1075), it is visibly stated that the data is “preliminary data”. By checking the datasets (http://www.tribunal-electoral.gob.pa/html/fileadmin/user_upload/Elecciones/elecciones-2014/Cuadro_01_-_Presidente.pdf), in PDF format, it is possible to access the results for major electoral contests, registered votes and invalid votes, but no information on spoiled ballots.
