This data category requires results by constituency / district for all major national electoral contests. Election data informs about voting outcomes and voting process. What are electoral majorities and minorities? How many votes are registered, invalid, or spoilt? To enable highest transparency, the Index assesses polling station data. Data for electoral zones does not suffice. The Index consulted the National Democratic Institute (NDI) to develop this data category. Submission is rejected since not all required data is available. Results available include results for major electoral contests, registered votes and invalid votes, which are referred as “rejected ballots”. Also, name of vote category changes between webpage stating the data in HTML (https://www.iebc.or.ke/election/?election-results) and a document elaborated by the same organisation (https://www.iebc.or.ke/docs/4TH%20MARCH%202013%20GENERAL%20ELECTION%20DATA.pdf). This category of votes is stated as Spoilt votes in the first one, and as Rejected votes on the second one. Both documents differ also on the final count number. Submitter stated that data publishes on the especial results website by the Comission (http://vote.iebc.or.ke/) was not timely published, since the 2013 election was on 4 March 2013, data was added by IEBC on the 9 March 2013. The site also states that all data published is provisional. You need to register to get access to the API.
