List of registered (limited liability) companies. The submissions in this data category do not need to include detailed financial data such as balance sheet, etc. Open data from company registers may be used for many ends: e.g. enabling customers and businesses to see with whom they deal, or to see where a company has registered offices. This definition draws on the work of OpenCorporates.
The submitter assessed the usability of the data as follows (3 - little to no effort needed, 1 - extensive effort needed): 3

|findable_steps||A Google search for "greek company register" lead to the General Electronic Commercial Registry page and, after some searching on the Greek section of the page (the English section is less detailed), found a page (http://www.businessportal.gr/dynamic.php) that directed me to "Search Corporate Public Data" (GEMI Publicity)(http://www.businessportal.gr/dynamic.php).|
|Collected by government||Yes|
|collector_name||General Secretariat for Commerce, Ministry of Development|
|characteristics||Name of company, Unique identifier of the company, Register available for entire country|
|location||https://www.businessregistry.gr/publicity/index - General Commercial Registry|
Not all 4 required characteristics were found online. More specifically, although the register is available for the entire country, the General Commercial Registry page (https://www.businessregistry.gr/publicity/index) only offers a company's name and registry number and not the address. Hence the original submission, which stated that all 4 required characteristics were available online, was rejected. Also, the original submission did not provide a Source URL where the data could be found. Lastly, the original submission stated that the data are available online without the need to register or request access to the data. In reality, data are available through a search mask and it is necessary to know the name of an entity in order to find it. Hence, only one entity can be searched and viewed/downloaded at a time and the dataset is not downloadable at once.
