findable_steps If you look up for Administrative Division Costa Rica on Google Search, the sixth link is the law that created the Division, which you have to verify on the Legislation site. For the official map you have to know there is one at the SNIT site. At the SNIT page, go to the Limit link which will show the Administrative Boundaries.

The original submitter's entry was expanded with more details on getting to the actual Administrative Boundaries page (via the Link page in the given SNIT homepage). The characteristics are all available online but are not downloadable. Thus, the format is modified to remove any available open format.
